Our research can benefit Golf Course: Developers Underwriters Management firms Brokers Appraisers ...among others in the industry Local Characteristics and Comparisons Here we identify the courses and their features in a specific geographic region. These include many details of the surrounding golf courses, their physical characteristics and other features, for instance, rounds played and green fees. Hedonic Pricing and the Demand for Golf We have constructed models of the demand for golf which allow us to assess the dollar value of a wide variety of golf course features. Economists call this hedonic pricing. It is most useful for determining the net economic value of say, adding different types of markers to a course, or lengthening a course by some yardage, or building a full dining room versus a snack bar, and similar such questions. We can offer the dollar increment in greens fees for two similar courses where one is designed by Jack Nicklaus and the other by P. B. Dye, or most any other designer. This provides a golf course developer with the revenue estimates a particular architect can bring to their project.
