Our Philosophy
We believe golf is an important part of any vibrant, growing economy.
However for the golf industry to grow it needs to be run like a
business. Therefore, like other industries, golf deserves the best
quality information and research. We at Sportometrics intend to provide
the research necessary to move the golf industry forward.
In the end we believe that "Golf is Life and Life is Golf," and the words of the immortal Bobby Jones ring in our heads daily, "Golf was not meant to be fair."
We will work hard, and we will reveal the truth. Rule 13-1 applies.
Our Credo
We at Sportometrics believe that golf, as a sport, deserves no less than the very best scientific research available. Golf, as a business, cannot survive and grow without the very best scientific research available. We are committed to providing this leading edge scientific research.
We are aware that there are many people involved in golf and business research, but we believe that we bring something special to the table. First, we are basically academic researchers, not businessmen. As academics we bring a special standard of care and quality to our work. In our minds our work must not only satisfy you the customer and golf expert, but our academic peers. Second of all we are economists. We teach economics and sports daily in the classroom, and we use leading edge empirical techniques to find best solutions to common and unusual problems. We can make your operation a better experience for your golfers and your shareholders. Third we are golfers. We have played golf since we were young and will play as long as we can breathe, or at least hit a pitching wedge. We want to support the game and business of golf and to be a small part of making golf even better than it already is, no small chore.
